A close parallel to this can be found in the application
of "use case" diagramming in the requirements-definition
phase.
A complete collection of use-case diagrams can serve
not only as the framework for more detailed design
specifications, but also as the high-level outline of the
user-assistance material. All of this con be done quickly,
easily, and fairly painlessly for the developers, since almost
no "writing" is required. A small collection of well-executed
use-case diagrams can contain more useful information than
a thousand garbled pages of traditional specification documents,
and in a fraction of the time.
