"Joe's PDF looks fine but mine's all fuzzy and looks
like crap. Plus he's got bookmarks and stuff and I
have to page through to find what I want."

Divide the total number of employees in that company
by two and there's how many people might possibly
think there's somethign wrong with the file you
delivered (roughly).

Put a blurb on the access point for the document
indicating size and approximate download times for
various connection speeds. If you do decide to go with
a lighter PDF as well, make it painfully obvious that
it's not nearly as useful as the original.
