Thank you for the feedback, Lisa (and Richard, Dan, Jan, Sandy, Justin,
Sean, Bryan). These are some great suggestions. I've thought of a few ideas
for exercises I'll try... and just might take you up on that offer to have a
look at them :-) And I will check out Sourceforge. Writing for an open
source software project... great idea.
I appreciate the comments about the importance of research and
organizational skills, and the ability to pick up on things quickly. In my
case, I have confidence my abilities in those areas. I think the suggestions
will help with my particular needs for "self-discovery."
One side topic (hopefully I don't p-off anyone -- really should read the
list FAQs more carefully). Does anyone here like the magazine American
Heritage of Invention and Technology? Fascinating articles for a
geek-at-heart like myself. I'm just curious how popular that would be with
this crowd.
