Okay, I have been one of those lurkers that was mentioned in a thread
last month. I have read (almost) all the postings for the last couple
of months and have learned a lot. Now, I have a question for this group
of scribes. I have written various documentation, such as Policy and
Procedures, Operations Manuals and Software Manuals as an accompaniment
to the technical work that I have been doing for various companies.
Now, I have been asked by another company to write Technical Articles
for people with a relatively high technical background. The articles
are between 20 - 35 pages long and are on various subjects. I am
assuming that I would have to research these products on the web to
gather the information required and then write them. My questions for
the group are:- Where does one go to do research on XML, Java, Cisco
Routers etc. and how does one figure out what to bill for these
articles? I have looked through the archives with no luck, so any help
will be muchly appreciated.
