Something I've appreciated as a software/hardware user but seldom included as a writer is a Troubleshooting Guide. When I've used one, it was included in the User's Reference Guide. At my last company we included installation instructions in both the readme file and the Getting Started Guide. Why? Because our users were really technical and more likely to read the readme file than any printed documentation.
