Hi all,

I have just been given an interesting project to puzzle over. I have been
asked to pull all the individual documents for one of our projects into one
standard format. The new document is an operations manual. As far as I
know, the files are a combination of plain text, Word, PDF and Framemaker
files. HTML is the preferred output. The other requirement is that the
result must be easily modifed (I'm told on a day-to-day basis) by developers
who use UNIX (usually notepad or vi).

My first thoughts on this is to develop a web interface that contains all
the text (appropriately structured), with some mechanism that allows anyone
to modify them (perhaps using HTML forms + Javascript)

Do any of you have any opinions on my idea or any other ideas about how I
could develop a solution for this project?

You can reply to me directly at sarah -dot- payne -at- eircom -dot- net -dot-

Thanks in advance,
Sarah
