Actually, "Ohm" is from Electricity. :)
"Om" is a Sanskrit word used in both Hinduism (prevalent in India) and Buddhism
(practiced all over Asia).
"Zen" is a Japanese word, but it describes a school of Buddhism practiced in China, as
well as Japan.
Even if one assumes Mr. Schwartz was equating the two, simply because he used them in
the same paragraph, it's not such a far-fetched association: no doubt the two
cultures have crossed paths many times over the centuries they've existed.
Rather than simply firing off a snippy retort to Ms. Corwin's unnecessary, unhelpful,
and unwarranted message, I spent five minutes with a dictionary so I'd actually have a
clue.
(Speaking of ignorance...)
