Don't know what due diligence is, but you can try these:

The Contact Employee's Handbook
http://www.cehandbook.com/

Nolo
http://www.nolo.com/

The Contact Employee's Handbook gives good info on being a contract worker. Nolo is a legal web site. As always, if you are really concerned about what "due diligence" means, consult a lawyer. The information presented on the Web sites could be out of date or just plain wrong, or not applicable in your city, county, state, country, planet or ethereal plain.

Hope this helps
