RE: Handling developers, "the zone" and other myths
Subject:RE: Handling developers, "the zone" and other myths From:Jim Shaeffer <jims -at- spsi -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Mon, 3 Jun 2002 13:06:09 -0400
Whether "the zone" is a myth or not, shifts in attention do
introduce a cost. Everytime a programmer or writer or manager
has to shift attention from one issue to another, that
shift costs time. The person must focus on the interruption,
deal with it, if only to reschedule a discussion, and then
refocus on the original work.
Since my time costs less, I usually e-mail my question(s) to
the developer and wait for her/him to interrupt me <vbg>.
