An American conversation:

Bob exclaimed, "I have an idea!"
("I have an idea!" exclaimed Bob.)

"What's your idea?" asked Susan.
(Susan asked, "What's your idea?")

Bob said, "Let's do some tech writing."
("Let's do some tech writing," said Bob.)

Mary asked, "Did Bob say, 'Let's do some tech writing'?"

"Yes," Susan replied, "He did say, 'Let's do some tech writing.'"

Epilog:

"I have an idea!"; "What's your idea?"; and "Let's do some tech writing"
are some of the statements you read in this story.

The meaning behind "Let's do some tech writing": "This thread is dead."
