When I worked at Children's Television Workshop, all 8 or so of us assembly language programmers worked in a single open room with a single light switch on the wall near the door. This light switch also controlled every power outlet in the room.
Imagine our horror when a visitor accidentally turned the lights out on his way out the door!
(We were programming on Radio Shack Color Computers at the time and one of the "known issues" of the backup command was that it wiped the original floppy disks, so we NEVER backed up if we could help it. Remembering that afternoon still gives me shudders.)
