Why is there so much emphasis on finding a job? Why is a degree so important?

My name is Bob, and I have neither a degree or any problems finding work. I
know many writers who also never got a degree. I freelance and it is my
belief that those who keep looking for a "Job" are missing some great
opportunities out there.

The last thing I want is to "work" for someone. There is little or no
security, and once you struggle to find a job you like, it's often over
before it begins.

Are there freelancers here, or is everyone working for corporations who will
send you on your way if the money gets tight.

Bob
