Yup! But although most of the development dollars are not being used in
desktop applications. (the reasons are way off topic,) you may feel
comfortable that there is a sufficient interest in desktop applications
for support and innovation to continue. There is even a group working on
programming by voice. (See VoiceCoders on Yahoo.) If anybody is
seriously considering using voice recognition as a tool, I would highly
recommend that the purchase the product through a VAR. Unfortunately,
marketing has oversold the product. Voice recognition is not at the
point where it can be used out-of-the-box without some training of the
user and product.
