One of the more amusing oversights by Microsoft is that you cannot take
an Excel file and save it as a Word or as an RTF document. You have to
copy and paste the information between the two file types.

Highlight the cells you want to convert and copy them (CTRL+C). Place
your insertion point at the appropriate location in the Word file and
paste the Excel data from the clipboard (CTRL+V).

This results in the insertion of a table in your Word document. You can
convert the table to body text through the Table menu.
