Hi all,
I have a big problem which has caused me to rip out my hair for 2 hours.
I installed recently Acrobat Distiller v4.0 and FrameMaker 6.0 on my PC and
I am now trying to install a postscript printer to convert my MS Word docs
into pdf docs.
I went on Adobe's web site to download the corresponding Printer Driver
(Adobe Universal PostScript Windows Driver Installer 1.0.6 - English which
can be accessed at: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=1500 ). I installed
the winsteng.exe executable file on my disk and launched the installation. I
chose the Adobe Generic Postscript printer when asked to choose a model of
printer and ended up the installation.
Environment:
System: Windows 2000
Acrobat Distiller v4.0
MS Word 2000
Method used for conversion from Word to pdf:
- I tried to print a Word doc into a file selecting the Generic Postscript
printer
- I obtained a .prn doc on which I then changed the extension to .ps.
- I then opened the .ps file with Acrobat Distiller and made a pdf.
Problem:
The pdf is displayed in black & White and not in colors. I have to send
some protected user manuals with colored screenshots as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance for your help.
ps: I do not have much hair left...
