HTML is a flat medium. You cannot embed in HTML. Think
of the HTML page itself as a script... nah, too
techy... think of it as a serving tray. You can give
the tray to someone, but all they'll get is the tray.
If you want to send someone coffee, cream, sugar, and
a few cookies, then you need to put them on the tray
and give the whole lot to the person.
So, if you are sending HTML pages to someone, say in
an e-mail message, you need to attach not only the
HTML page, but all files used in that page (images,
external CSS and/or scripts, etc.) Else, you can serve
the content and then send the HTML shell to the person
and have the references to the images and other files
point back to the server, so when the person opens the
HTML file you sent, the file refereces the content
from the server and the page is correctly displayed.
