Subject:Like long hours? From:"Marsha G. Kamish" <mgkamish -at- yahoo -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Tue, 6 Aug 2002 09:31:56 -0700 (PDT)
Trying to get this back on topic, I do believe the
question was, ASSUMING THE EXTRA HOURS ARE ABUSIVE
(sorry for shouting), what do you do? Do you have a
heart-to-heart with the boss showing him/her pictures
of your lonely family? Do you bring out the contract
and a spreadsheet with lots of numbers and logic? How
do you approach the boss without insulting his/her
lack of planning or rubbing in his/her face the fact
that s/he's powerless to add more personnel?
Please forget the argument/discussion about what
causes the extra hours - just assume the tech writer
is a hard worker and there is too much work. What do
you do? What *do* you do?
