An addendum: Already this thread is piling up with "use PDF" suggestions.
They are valid suggestions, because PDF lets you "lock down" the doc to a
greater degree.
BUT....
I hate PDFs. There, I said it.
Graphics look like crap, the GUI is a pain, from my experience very few
users know how to use Acrobat's features, the online help is not very
good, and you can't compress them much for transmitting in ZIP files.
But that's not the biggest issue. Sometimes a PDF is simply not acceptable
to the user. I frequently deal with coworkers and customers who REQUIRE me
to send them Word docs. Not Frame, not WordPerfect, not PDF.
So despite all our suggestions to use PDF, it's important to acknowledge
that it may not even be an option for you. If that's the case, I recommend
the workarounds I posted previously, and I hope to learn more tips from
this thread if it grows.
