Mmmm, good point. I don't think it's cynical at all. I think it's the reality. Go to any fan-site/message board for a game, and you'll find out pretty quickly whether there are tons of bugs in the game or not. I guess it doesn't help that in many cases, we're forced to use software (at work for instance) and deal with the bad design. We have no choice. :-(
I'm reading "The Inmates are Running the Asylum" right now, and it talks about this very issue.
