TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
As the author of the message, I have to tell you that *I* didn't know what a
Lone Writer is, I only knew I am the only writer here and have been the only
writer at most of my jobs and I have a million questions but no one to ask.
I heard the expression somewhere, then asked someone from the Framers list
where I could learn more about it. I did learn all about it by asking the
question here! And yes, I am a Lone Writer and yes, I am feeling just
wonderful about having found this list.
As for understanding written English, did you read the messages yesterday
about the horse runs and the horse trots?

Subject: RE: Lone Writers Lists
I want to thank the list for enlightening me on what a lone-writer is. I
guess sometimes, a word, is just a word (i.e. there are no hidden meanings).
Even worse, I have been a lone-writer without even knowing it.
I will now put that pointed hat on, and wander over to the corner to sit and
reflect on my ability to understand written English. ;-)
