All clear now then. Wasn't sure you were referring to the writers of the FM
docs. :D
You actually bring up a point that I strongly agree with. Most user
documentation raises the question as to whether the authors have actually used
the software in a production environment. But then again, is that a realistic
demand to place on the writers? Perhaps it is something that could be demanded
of a mature product such as FrameMaker or Word, but it is an impossible task for
writers of documentation for new software.
Trying to keep ahead of advanced users who may be using the product to levels
and tasks never considered suring the design or production of the software is an
impossible task. At that point, I think what is required much more indepth
documentation about how the software functions to allow the advaced users to
come up with their own processes in an informed manner instead of finding things
out 'hit and miss'.
