TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I'll go in a completely differnet direction here--while I agree that you
MUST storyboard out the presentation so you can figure out what the
multiple paths will be--I recommend you take a look at Macromedia's
Authorware <http://www.macromedia.com/software/authorware/>. It's an
icon-based authoring tool for creating stand-alone CBT. It will make
creating your multiple paths a snap. It includes decision structure,
page tracking and many more powerful fetures.
I'll admit that there is a learning curve for Authorware, but the
developer community is top-notch. The Aware newsgroup is like having 300
developers setting next to you wanting for you to ask questions.
If I had to come up with the type of presentation you've describe I'd
definitely use Aware. But then again, it's the tool I know and love.
