Hello,

Here's my 2 cents.

I think that it in this instance it is perfectly acceptable to use second
person. So I think the editor was correct. However, I don't think that this
is the issue. I have found that I must choose my battles carefully. I
think, especially for an internal document (which is what the presentation
in question seems to be) minor issues of usage are not worth fighting
about. There is always a chance that *I* could be wrong - so I consider my
editor's markups very carefully before I decide whether or not to argue
with her. If the editor's changes make the document technically in error,
then that is worth fighting over.

I'll admit that I don't know if this opinion is a result of maturity or
burn out ; ) But I do think that it makes for good office relationships
with my fellow writers, editors, and developers.

My opinions are my own and not IBMs.
