It often happens to me as well that I don't respond because I assume the person got off-line replies. From now on I will assume much less.
I use bank and utility sites, but I don't consider their help good. Also, some of these sites let you enter only if you are a registered user. Nevertheless, your response brings me one step closer to the answer. As I need to define the help of an Extranet app (for staff worldwide and authorized business partners), the remaining question is whether Extranet app users expect an amzon-type help or a traditional one.
