I've always gone with giff because the G stands for "graphic," not
"jraphic." And, like Teri, I frequently use it in conjunction with JPEG, but
unlike Teri, I think "giffs and jaypegs" rolls off the tongue better than
"jiffs and jaypegs."

However, I find the Spanish pronunciation mentioned by Wade and Logendra
rather attractive -- "hiffs and haypegs."

How does that Latin phrase go? Degustibus non disputantum? (There's no
arguing about taste.) :-)
