I'm designing an aviation maintenance manual which I hope to market to
several repair shops. The FAA requires a unique number for each manual,
but does not specify a numbering format. I was just going to use the
type manual, julian date, repair shop initials, and 1-up for each of
three manuals.
For example, for a Repair Station Manual, Quality Control Manual, and
Training Manual, all released on 10/27/01 (fat chance), for Sterling
Aviation, I'd assign the following numbers:
