Why should STC competition judges be expected to load some unknown piece of software on their machines just to judge the contest? The last thing I want to do is clutter my registry with the detritus of a dozen beta versions of some application that I would never want on my computer in the first place.

Many companies have demo versions. Many companies give software to reviewers.
It seems likely to me that the STC could evaluate technical accuracy without
much of a problem in the community. Why shouldn't submission of software be a
requirement for entry into an STC competition?
