Actually, there IS an online documentation competition, separate from the
publications competition with which you may be familiar. And since this
competition started in 1984, there HAS been a significant improvement in the
online help for many applications. Been there!
Seems to me a lot of people are rising to the bait on this one, often with
little REAL information or experience [not pointing at Matt on this one,
just a general observation].
I do not presume to speak for STC, but f anyone would like some *real* data
about the judging criteria, you might look at the Boston Chapter's website:
www.stc-boston.org, then click Events > Competitions >Judges' Materials.
>From there, you can look at the judging criteria for the Tech Pubs and the
Online Information competitions. Be aware that the online criteria may take
a while to download.
