Subject:MS Manual of Style for Tech Pubs? From:John Cornellier <t_w -at- cornellier -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Wed, 06 Nov 2002 15:01:17 +0100
MS Manual of Style for Tech Pubs is dead. Long live ... what? It's listed on Amazon as out of print.
I'm looking for a standard reference so that online help modules developed on different sites can have some common points. Rather than rewriting a style guide from
scratch I had thought of the above book, but it's defunct. I liked it because it was fairly comprehensive.
Any suggestions as to what to use?
Perhaps "Microsoft Windows User Experience" plus a style guide like "Chicago Manual of Style" ?
I'm curious about why MS has dropped this book & whether they intend to replace it with anything.
