>From my days at Bellcore, the difference is subtle:

Inbound/outbound call is the description of call, while incoming/outgoing
call is the call doing it.

Example:

The Chicago Call center handles inbound calls from customers and they handle
5,000 incoming calls per day. The NYC Call Center handles outbound calls
from Tier2 technical support and they handle 2,000 outgoing calls per day.
