Mmmm, good point. I don't know. I was making a generalization after all, with little to go on the in the way of sample data. :-)
If an opposition point was invented, that wouldn't surprise me. I've noticed in arguements where the two sides are polarized, each side begins "inventing" the position of the other side and argues against that invention instead of what the opposition is actually saying. In several discussions on this list, I've read threads that argued with each other for several posts, but if you looked closely at what each side was saying, their opinions were actually pretty close to agreement. Both sides managed to get themselves all lathered up over something that was never said. (yep, I'm guilty of it too.)
