But the animated graphic does convey technical content! When I came upon the
original version of this image it was as a gif. The gif was just as
effective at communicating the mechanical process and I bookmarked the site
just because of this one image.
Also, Flash does allow an image to be saved as an animated gif, as well as
in the native file format. Granted, Flash gives a better aesthetic
appearance but the gif still works.
This image was the best single example that came to mind at the time. I do
take the point however, I should have clarified that this was a Flash image.
My excuse, my response was sent late on a Sunday afternoon not long before I
had to drive to the town in which I work (Amesbury near Stonehenge). I deal
with Techwrl and other similar groups in my own time, at home, on my
weekends.
