Re: FrameMaker Vs Word
Take your pick:
Isn't there some sort of hosted Windows package that you can run on UNIX so that you can run Windows apps?
- WINE
- bosch
- vmWare
- Win4Lin
All have limitations, especially if you need to use ActiveX, but for an ordinary office application, all do a reasonable job. The Windows apps run slower using most of these programs, but if your machine is less than three years old, the speed should be acceptable.
vmWare, I should mention, is also available for Windows, in case you'd like to try Linux or some other operating system without changing your machine's configuration much.

" A well-proportioned mind is one which shows no particular bias; one of which we may safely say that it will never cause its owner to be confined as a madman, tortured as a heretic, or crucified as a blasphemer. Also, on the other hand, it will never cause him to be applauded as a prophet, revered as a priest, or exalted as a king. Its usual blessings are happpiness and mediocrity."
- Thomas Hardy, "The Return of the Native"
