Subject:Product help vs. application help? From:"Hart, Geoff" <Geoff-H -at- MTL -dot- FERIC -dot- CA> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Mon, 18 Nov 2002 09:16:17 -0500
C.S.Rajan wondered: <<Can anyone tell me what is the difference between
creating help for a software product and creating help for a software
application (project)? I was asked this question in an interview.>>
I don't see any difference between the two, at least not in North American
English. If you're asked questions like this at an interview, it's always
safe to answer as follows: "How do you define the difference between the
two? In my experience, ..." Then, conclude with a statement you can defend,
such as "both refer to the same thing", or "there are two main meanings used
in the industry... A = ... B = ... Do you mean A or B?"
