I've tried scanning to PDFs using Acrobat 5 but
the file sizes seem large (16 pages is 1 MB). So what should I be
shooting for ... GIF? TIFF?
If there are 16 pages per MB that means that each page occupies 66 KB, with is very small for a page-sized color graphic.
As for the best format - what are you going to do with the scanned-in pages?
