I would add some "before" spacing to the paragraph immediately following
the table -- or doesn't that work?
Another somewhat clunky solution might be to create a dummy row as the
last row of the table and remove all the borders except those that
provide the bottom line of the previous row.
once you insert a table into a word document how can
you adjust the spacing after the table insert?
