Subject:building Frame books with files open From:LDurway -at- pav -dot- com To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Tue, 3 Dec 2002 16:22:01 -0600
Earlier today someone had a problem with files failing to update when they
built their book. In the usual maelstrom of responses that followed, some
folks mentioned that if you have the problem files open, you can build the
book without problems. Plus, the build goes faster.
I just remembered that there is one possible problem if you have your files
set to "make page count even" (In FM 7: Format > Page Layout >
Pagination). If a file is open when you build, Frame doesn't delete the
extra blank pages, if any, at the end of the file. You end up with any
spare blank pages that may have occurred during your editing session. So:
before building, save any open files even if you leave them open to speed
processing.
