I started keeping a simple journal several years ago,
to capture high-level thoughts and little details that
didn't seem to "fit" within any of the typical tools
that I use on a day-to-day basis to manage and do my
work. Sometimes it was to make a note to myself about
what I thought was a bad management practice (to see
if it came back to bite them in the rear-end),
sometimes it's to note ideas, and sometimes to capture
nuggets of wisdom from this site. It's not
time-consuming...taking less time than it does to keep
up with this list!
