They say they do no editing, no TOC creation (if you got one, then they will
have one) but do create a basic index, which looks, for their example, like
just a list of topics. They say that the HTML in Word is messy and does not
get you the TOC, Search and index. All of which is true.
What makes me wonder is there is literally no contact or location info,
except for a brief statement about the NY Tri state area. No phone, no
physical mail address, nothing. www.thehelpfactory.com
I know the economy is tough, but it seems tough to figure the return on the
investment for WWP for Word at $30 a pop...

Sharon Burton-Hardin wonders: <<Anyone know anything about The Help Factory?
They are advertising they can take your Word file and, for $30, turn it into
a website with search and an index.>>
Something sure sounds fishy. For that price, it just might be possible to
produce a concordance, but certainly not any kind of decent index, unless
it's a _really_ short file. As for turning it into a Web site, you can do
that yourself simply by selecting "save as HTML" in any version of Word
post-Word 97. I'd look very closely at the details of their service before
assuming they're legit.
