Steve...human beings can also run a mile under 4 minutes, throw a 100 mph
fastball, sing Carmen at the Metropolitan Opera, and write the theory of
relativity. How can they do this? Training. Doesn't mean ALL human beings
can do these things and doesn't mean that ALL techwriters can write all
types of content equally well.

Ditto. I do tech writing and marketing writing. Also journalism, white
papers, etc. I've never understood people who think that human beings can
only do one narrow, specialized kind of thing.
