Re: HELP- Word document template?
When I save the document from the template, it overwrites the template.
This is what I am doing in MS Word97,
1. Design the document template (Add company logo, "To:" and "From:" fields
and some blank lines to add the text)
2. Save as document template (tempname.dot)
3. Open tempname.dot
4. Create my document
5. Save document as "Customer1.doc"
Now I have lost the template.
Perhaps the problem is with step 3.
I only *open* the template when I want to *change* the template itself.
Usually, when I create a new template, I save it as a .dot and put it where Word expects to find it (with at least 1 copy on removable media). Then if I want to create a new document using that template, I launch Word, select New from the File menu, and click on the correct template.
