No contest, Bonnie.

The "editors-writers" version is clean,
inviting, well balanced, easy to read.
I like the navigation on the right, even
though it is (unfortunately I think) less
conventional than putting it on the left.
Why? Because it requires less mousing
around for right-handed users.

The other version is a visual disaster.
The tacky graphics in the left-hand
navigation column clash with the rest
of the layout. Text is hard to read due
to insufficient color contrast. The pastor's
mugshot is a distraction--all the graphic
elements, in fact, are a distraction from
the message.
