However, did you know that you can use the same mail folders if you have Windows and Linux on the same computer? Support for Windows partitions is usually turned on with most Linux distributions, so all you have to do is make sure that the Windows partition with Mozilla on it is mounted automatically in /etc/fstab, then create links for your Linux mail folders to your Windows ones.This works well as long as you're not stuck with a proprietary NTFS partition. In Linux you can read from your NTFS partition, but you can't write to it--mostly because of legal issues.
If you want to do something like this, make sure you put your Mozilla mailboxes on a Fat32 partition. As we get closer to the next generation of NT being released, and the implementation of a database-like filesystem with a proprietary gatekeeper to your data, things like this will simply become impossible.
Chalk another one up for profit over usability.
