Dian,
I had exactly the same problem with Acrobat 5.05 and a large Word2002 file,
but on Windows ME (processing freezing, messages about lack of memory). I
ended up going back to Word2000 to get the job done.
Later I had time to play around with the settings in PDFMaker and found
that if I turned off some of the settings, then it would work. (The
settings did not cause a problem with Word2000.) If I remember correctly, I
deselected most everything on the Office tab of the PDFMaker settings dialog.
If you haven't tried deselecting those items, you might do that (leave
x-ref &tocs on because you need them) and see if it works.
Regards, Jean
