You know, this whole Al Gore thing reminds me of something (I at least think
is) kinda funny. Back in the days when I was quite the activist (1994 -
slap me upside against the head, but I won't tell you what kind), good ole'
Al appeared on Larry King Live to discuss the "White House's" internet
initiative. I just happened to be tuned in at that time, so with phone in
hand, redialing something like 45 times, I finally got through to the
operator:
"I'm an avid user of the internet myself and having just sent the White
House an E-mail, I was wondering how the White House handles incoming E-mail
and how they respond to it..."
I was one of two to have their question posed to the VP, 20 minutes after
making my call. While Al went on about this and that, I shared my good
fortune with a fairly large number of my [then] associates.
Guess whose mailbox got stuffed with letters?
