FrameMaker is for long, technical documents featuring repeating style
elements, generated lists, cross-references, and for people who use the
content in online help and other such places. FrameMaker on Windows is
not good for color press work.
PageMaker is not.
BTW, you need FrameMaker 6 (with patches) and PageMaker 7 for Windows
XP.
I am reasonably well versed in PageMaker 6.5, have it installed in my
laptop, and used it to create my portfolio as well, but havent heard
much
about PageMaker 6.5.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone in this email discussion who
has
had experience with *both* PageMaker 6.5 and FrameMaker (whatever the
current version is) could describe similiarities and differences between
the two. Someone told me that FM is more advanced and sophisticated
than
PM. Pls confirm or clarify.
