In addition to any feedback you receive on this list, there is a PDF on
Adobe's Web site that compares FrameMaker, PageMaker, and InDesign. Last
time I looked, it was under the InDesign data.
If you have trouble finding it, let me know and I'll see if I still have the
PDF.
Very Briefly:
FrameMaker is designed for creating documents with many pages using a
specific page layout (or a few specific page layouts)...like training
manuals.
PageMaker is for documents that are more freeform where there might not be
any two pages alike...like marketing brochures.
I've found that people who are familiar with PageMaker tend to pick up
FrameMaker very quickly. They use similar concepts: styles, text flows,
master pages.
Good luck,

Hi Everyone
Im new so be kind to me :-)
I am reasonably well versed in PageMaker 6.5, have it installed in my
laptop, and used it to create my portfolio as well, but havent heard much
about PageMaker 6.5.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone in this email discussion who has
had experience with *both* PageMaker 6.5 and FrameMaker (whatever the
current version is) could describe similiarities and differences between
the two. Someone told me that FM is more advanced and sophisticated than
PM. Pls confirm or clarify.
THANKS!
