My problem when responding to an ad is that I work on the message in
outlook - and do a lot of cutting and pasting as I revise the cover letter.

I'll often move some text to the bottom of the page to hold it, and then
forget to delete it before sending the message.

Or, if I'm sending out a standard cover letter (if the job doesn't list any
details, and when you're desperate to get work, as I during the full *year*
of unemployment, you'll respond to just about anything), I'd forget to
change company name information.

Generally, you only make that mistake once or twice before you really start
proofing...
