Subject:RE: OT: Re: Are you a "Mental Gymnast"? From:Tammy VanBoening <Tammy -dot- VanBoening -at- netRegulus -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Wed, 22 Jan 2003 10:01:49 -0700
Yet another mental gymnast question that a colleague had to answer for a
recent interview. They didn't get the job, but did learn the answer for the
applicant who was offered the position. My friend couldn't really figure out
what this had to do w/ technical writing, but we surmised that maybe it was
to determine how much of a team player one really is and how you solve
really difficult situations so that everybody can be satisfied (if that
really is ever possible).
You are driving on a dark, rainy, stormy night and as you drive by a bus
stop you notice three people - an elderly woman who needs to go the hospital
immediately, an old friend you once saved your life (literally) and the love
of your life - the person for whom you have always been waiting. Your car,
however, can hold only one other person. What do you do?
I will give a hint - the applicant who was offered the position managed to
accomodate everyone in this scenario - all three people as well as
him/herself.
