TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.

Me.

Increasing our knowledge of "...word processing tools, desktop publishing
tools, graphics tools, editing..." does NOT increase our value, just as the
doctor wouldn't be of value if he was the greatest user of the arthroscopic
equipment, but knew nothing of the human body on which he was using it.
I don't care how much you know how to use a word processing tool...if you
don't know about what you are writing ABOUT, then you (collective, not
specific) are a mediocre technical writer.
